Amy Atlas

I have spent hours looking at Amy Atlas' site and blog, just admiring her gorgeous dessert tables and mouth-watering treats. In another life, I might have ended up being an event designer, but for now, it's enough just to wish I could be invited to one of her parties. The image is from her recent Valentine shoot, and it seems she is also on the latest craze, Macarons!

If you have never had macarons, you are really missing out... They are delicate little french cookie sandwiches that come in a myriad of flavors. Unlike cupcakes, they are not particularly easy to make at home. (I tried once, an inmitigated disaster...but then I'm not french, Or much of a baker.) You can order them, but something tells me, they are best eaten fresh. (Like my first macaron that I had in Paris. {bragging alert} Nothing will ever compare!)

Amy Atlas is a true inspiration and she has inspired me to want to try baking more. This recipe for macarons looks a little less complicated than the other version I tried...Maybe I might try again!
