A Little About Us
A LITTLE ABOUT URBANITY STUDIO
You've found Urbanity Studio. This blog and all the ideas floating around on it are the online embodiment of Erin Cooper (and a few helpers that you will meet along the way).
I guess you could say this project is my Magnum Opus. I've always been a creative, and the last 12 years of my life have been centered mostly around Graphic Design with sprinkles of just about every other kind of artistic medium there is. At some point last year I began to think about my goals (turning 30 and becoming pregnant for the first time led to much reflection) and aspirations for my life in terms of what my mark on the world would be. That train of thought led to the creation of this website.
"Urbanity" means the quality of life in a city. I've lived in many cities and the one thing they all had in common was this idea of an elite side of life that is only attainable with money. While it may be true that not everyone can afford to eat at the fanciest restaurants, it is also true that the best and most treasured things in life are often attainable by anyone. Anyone with a good eye, a little creativity, and some good ol' fashioned resourcefulness.
Urbanity Studio is your source for vision in creating a beautiful lifestyle. Each section on our site will focus on finding ways to have the life we want. We all deserve color, beauty, and adventure without going into debt or living beyond our means. When I say "life on a shoestring", I don't mean finding a handbag for $300 that used to cost a $1000. 90% of the world makes less than 30k a year and rampant consumerism isn't the answer to being fabulous. Think of this blog as the key to looking at lifestyle influences and finding ways to create them in a frugal fashion.

WE THE PEOPLE
Erin Cooper is one half of an elite web-developing team, Cooper Multimedia. The other half (and coincidentally, her other half) is Tim Cooper. He's the code and she's the design, and together they build awesome websites for all kinds of businesses locally and nationally. Erin's main hobby (other than sewing cute dresses for her daughter/sidekick Elise) is her "Urbanity Studio" Etsy store. She sells all manner of vintage inspired hair accessories and is preparing to launch her Fall line of statement necklaces and belts.
